Welcome to Human Data Jobs Weekly!
This really is something I wish was available when I began my journey as a Human Data Expert back in December 2024.
Now don't get me wrong…
Without question some of the best lessons I have learned during this journey have been harsh lessons I am now truly grateful to have experienced.
Because many of these lessons and perspectives can now be shared as part of the Human Data Jobs weekly newsletter, with the intention of not only helping you avoid many of the potholes I encountered…
But to also help remove the noise and at times 'chaotic' nature of trying to find meaningful, well-paid work as an AI trainer.
The Human Data industry provides many exciting opportunities for subject matter experts and generalists alike.
But it is still in its infancy, and as with any youngster there can be considerable teething problems and growing pains.
On a weekly basis you'll be introduced to new platforms, project opportunities as a freelancer and full-time job vacancies as Human Data Platforms build their own core teams.
Above all, the purpose of this weekly is to give you a newsletter that gets you working and not scrolling, shortening the amount of time it would normally take to source bona-fide train AI opportunities.
Speaking of 'taking action'...
Your subscription comes with a FREE listing on the Human Data Expert directory - designed and dedicated to providing you a LinkedIn style shop window, but in your capacity as a Human Data Expert.
Go there now and add your profile as the directory will be promoted to over 80 Human Data Platforms, and I wouldn't want you to miss out.
Thank you for being on this journey with me - enjoy the very first issue!

Platform Of The Week - Pasiflora AI

Pasiflora AI came to my attention in April, 2026, I immediately signed up on the platform and 3 things in particular stood out:
The Bloom Program - a structured training program all experts must complete in order to be considered for expert tasks.
Tiger Teams - a 'special forces' style category of experts available for tasks.
Co-founder Diana Lovett holds the role: 'Chief Training Officer'.
Diana's role as Head of Expert Training and Expert Development is one I believe too many platforms do not have, given the emphasis and importance of human data to effectively train AI, and here is what I mean…

Most platforms onboard you for a project. They show you what's needed and you do the work. What they don't do is train you as an AI trainer and those are two very different things.
Being a genuine expert in your field does not automatically mean you know how to translate that expertise into data that trains AI effectively.
Pasiflora, through Diana's role, has recognised that gap and have built something to close it. That is not a small thing.

CEO Perspective
Every week we pick one thing a CEO has said that matters to you as a human data professional. Not corporate noise - just the signal.
This week it comes from Brendan Foody, CEO of Mercor - and if he's right about where this industry is heading, you'll want to hear it.

Mercor currently pays out over $4M per day to experts, and its CEO firmly believes while AI training will still be in huge demand, the actual training will be experts training AI agents.
Food for thought right - no pun intended…

Expert Spotlight
Each week will feature a Human Data Expert sharing their own experiences as a trainer of AI and to launch our expert spotlight I'm thrilled to introduce you to Jordan, who I had the great fortune to work with during an AI studio recording in London.

Expert Q&A
Name: Jordan Wan
Profession: Medical Physicist
Expert URL: https://humandataexpert.com/jordan-wan
How long have you been a Human Data Expert: Just over a year, since I began applying to the major platforms. During that time, I've worked across multiple AI training and evaluation projects in STEM, as well as generalist projects.
What you like about it: The flexibility and variety. Every project presents a different challenge, from improving AI reasoning to evaluating technical accuracy. It has also allowed me to apply my scientific background in new ways while helping shape AI systems to be more reliable, accurate, and useful.
What could be better: Transparency could be improved significantly. Getting invited to projects often feels like a numbers game—the more platforms you're on, the more opportunities you have to apply, and the greater your chances of landing work. Personally, my success rate has been pretty low. Receiving rejection emails is demotivating, but on many platforms you don't even realise you've been rejected unless you manually check your application status.
As with any job application, feedback is almost always appreciated. I'd love to know what gaps in my experience or knowledge they're looking for, although I appreciate that's a luxury that's rarely provided. Greater project consistency and longer-term opportunities would also be welcome. There can be long gaps between projects, so more continuity and clearer communication around upcoming work would benefit both contributors and clients.

Additional thoughts: One of the most rewarding aspects is knowing that thoughtful human feedback directly contributes to building safer and more capable AI systems. As these technologies become increasingly integrated into everyday life and healthcare, I believe expert human oversight will remain essential. For anyone considering this work, curiosity, attention to detail, resilience, and a willingness to keep learning are the qualities that make the biggest difference.

In The Next Issue
Thank you for taking the time to read the very first edition of 'Human Data Jobs Weekly'. My hope is you had as much fun reading it as I did putting it together!
The next edition will include not one but two new sections:
The Dark Side of human data work - what to watch for, who to avoid and how to protect yourself.
Core Position Listings - many of the Human Data Platforms are hiring full-time staff, including positions that can be fulfilled as a remote employee. Human Data Jobs Weekly will introduce these opportunities to you.
This is issue one and I want to build something genuinely useful for people in this space. So tell me - what would you most like to see covered? What questions do you have that nobody seems to be answering? What would make you look forward to this landing in your inbox every week?
I'd love to hear what you think and what you'd like to see covered. Just drop me a line at: [email protected] I read everything personally.
